SUPO, where required) Why this role matters: As an AOCS Engineer, you'll bring attitude and orbit control expertise to a constellation of 40+ Earth-observation satellites. You'll work across the full AOCS lifecycle, from design through on-orbit maintenance, analyzing performance, defining verification procedures, and leading anomaly investigations that keep our satellites precisely controlled and our SAR imagery sharp. Your day-to-day responsibilities - Analyze and improve on-orbit performance of AOCS components across a constellation of 40+ satellites - Lead market studies and trade evaluations for new ADCS and propulsion hardware, and introduce new AOCS components into satellites - Define, execute, and maintain verification procedures for AOCS components - Lead or contribute to AOCS anomaly investigations across multiple engineering domains to identify root causes - Maintain and improve operational procedures related to AOCS - Drive process improvements that affect the full in-orbit satellite constellation - Partner with satellite operations, radar, mechanical, electronics, manufacturing, and product teams What we're looking for Must haves: - BS/MS in Physics, Aerospace, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field - 2-4 years of experience designing, operating, or testing AOCS equipment or spacecraft hardware - Strong understanding of AOCS fundamentals: rigid body motion, differential equations, coordinate transformations, 3D geometry, feedback loops, state estimation - Solid understanding of astrodynamics and attitude determination and control principles - Working knowledge of Python and Git - Experience with electronic lab hardware (power supplies, oscilloscopes, etc.) - Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills Nice to haves: - Experience in multi-disciplinary environments (electrical, controls, mechanical, thermal) - Experience with flight dynamics software or libraries (e.g. STK, GMAT) - Experience working with GNSS - Proficiency in C++ Application Process - Talent Acquisition screening (remote) - Hiring Manager interview (remote) - Take-home technical task and panel interview (remote) - System thinking workshop (on-site) - Behavioural interview to assess cultural fit (on-site) WORKING AT ICEYE At ICEYE, you'll join a diverse and highly engaged team united by the ambition to make the impossible possible.
