GTM Engineer

About the role
Marqeta is looking for a GTM Engineer to build and operate the systems that power our go-to-market motion. This is a hands-on, builder-first role centered on Clay, where you'll architect enrichment, scoring, and signal pipelines, then extend them with AI tooling and connect them into Apollo, Marketo, Salesforce, Demandbase, Gong, and the rest of our marketing technology stack. Sitting within Marketing Operations, you'll work at the intersection of Marketing, Demand Generation, Sales, and RevOps turning GTM strategy into working infrastructure that helps our teams find, prioritize, and engage the right accounts faster, and continuously iterating on that infrastructure as our roadmap evolves. The ultimate goal is to find the most efficient and scalable methods for delivering pipeline to Marqeta. We work Flexible First https://www.marqeta.com/blog/2022/05/10/flexible-first. This role can be performed remotely only in one of our National locations, which you can review here https://www.marqeta.com/company/salaryzones. The Impact You'll Have - Partner with Marketing Operations, Sales, Demand Gen, Analytics, and RevOps to translate GTM strategy and campaign requests into scoped, buildable technical requirements, and troubleshoot issues as they arise - Design and maintain multi-step Clay tables and workflows for lead and account enrichment, waterfall data sourcing, intent signals, scoring, and list building - Build agents that trigger sales and marketing actions off of signals, such as funding events, hiring changes, tech stack changes, intent data, and Gong call insights - Build and maintain GTM workflows across PPC and ad platforms (LinkedIn, Demandbase Ads, Reddit, etc.), using Clay as an orchestration layer that moves accounts between platforms as they progress through funnel stages, optimizing spend and performance rather than treating enrichment and scoring as standalone steps - Run and continuously refine ABM motions against a defined target account list, including how those accounts are identified, scored, and targeted over time - Own the ongoing health of existing workflows: monitor and QA for data quality and deliverability, improve process efficiency, and maintain documentation and version control (naming conventions, change logs, table architecture notes) - Track outbound and sequence performance (reach, response, and pipeline influence) and use that data to iterate on scoring, targeting, and messaging logic - Evaluate new AI tools and enrichment providers, and pilot integrations that improve the speed or accuracy of existing workflows Who You Are - 4+ years of experience in a GTM Engineer, RevOps, Marketing Ops, or Growth Engineering role - Hands-on experience building in Clay, including Audience builds, Clay Ads, enrichment providers, formulas, and multi-step/chained workflows - Practical AI fluency: experience with LLMs, prompt engineering, and agent orchestration and evaluation loops, with a track record of shipping AI-powered workflows for enrichment, research, and personalization at scale - Experience with CRM platforms such as Salesforce (or similar) and marketing automation platforms such as Marketo (or similar) - Comfort with APIs, webhooks, and basic scripting or data transformation (JavaScript, Python, or JSON) to extend automations beyond native integrations - Strong data hygiene instincts and a systems-thinking mindset, able to spot a manual, repetitive GTM process and design an automated, end-to-end replacement - Strong communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work effectively across cross-functional teams such as Analytics, Web, and Demand Generation - Hands-on experience with intent data and signal-based / ABM go-to-market motions Nice-to-Haves - Hands-on experience with sales/GTM tools such as Apollo, Demandbase, Gong, or Chilipiper - Analytics or attribution tool experience (e.g., Looker, Tableau, or similar) - Experience
