About the role
SENIOR FINANCIAL ANALYST Finance · Remote (US) · Full-time · Reports to Director of Finance ABOUT NEST Nest builds care plan infrastructure for veterinary hospitals. Corporate veterinary groups use Nest to run preventive care memberships under their own brand, and we handle what sits underneath: enrollment, recurring billing, analytics, marketing, and seller-of-record compliance. Care plans change how pets receive care. Pet owners pay a predictable monthly amount, visit more often, and catch problems earlier. Hospitals build steadier revenue and longer client relationships. Our mission is to make that kind of preventive care available to every pet. ABOUT THE TEAM Finance at Nest is led by our Director of Finance and works closely with both founders and with leaders across Sales, Operations, Product, and Engineering. The team owns planning, board and investor reporting, and the financial models behind enterprise sales. WHAT YOU'LL DO Our financial models have two audiences. Internally, they guide how we plan, hire, and raise capital. Externally, they help a large veterinary network decide whether to partner with us, and the EBITDA lift model and pricing proposal are often what a network's CFO evaluates before signing. You will spend about 70% of your time on FP&A and about 30% on customer-facing modeling. The work rewards people who ask why a number is what it is, can turn a vague question into a structured analysis, and care whether the reader understands the answer. After a year, you will own the operating model, the board package, and the standard enterprise proposal model, and the sales team will bring you into late-stage deals as a matter of course. RESPONSIBILITIES FP&A (about 70%) - Maintain and extend the operating model, including the revenue forecast, expenses, cash flow, and runway. - Prepare the monthly management report and the board package. - Lead model design and variance analysis for the annual budget and reforecasts, working directly with department leads. - Track unit economics by segment and by hospital, including acquisition cost, lifetime value, gross margin, and contribution margin. - Build investor-ready models, scenario analyses, and data room materials during fundraising. - Build and maintain management reporting and self-service dashboards in Sigma. Customer-facing modeling (about 30%) - Maintain the EBITDA lift model and unit economics framework we present to enterprise prospects. - Model custom proposals across adoption levels, plan designs, fee structures, and rebates, showing the effect on both the customer's economics and Nest's margins. - Model revenue recognition for enterprise customers under ASC 606, including allocation, consumption-based recognition, straight-line amortization, and breakage. - Join customer calls when a CFO or procurement team wants to test assumptions on incrementality and ROI. - Analyze performance across our live hospitals, including spend lift, visit frequency, cancellations, breakage, and payment capture. WHO YOU ARE We are looking for someone who meets the minimum requirements for this role. If you meet them, we encourage you to apply. Preferred qualifications are a bonus, not a requirement. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS - You have 4 or more years in FP&A, investment banking, consulting, or finance at a SaaS or healthcare company. - You build financial models that are clean, auditable, and ready to show a board or a customer. - You write your own SQL against a warehouse such as BigQuery or Snowflake. - You understand SaaS economics, including ARR, retention, CAC, LTV, and payback, and the accounting underneath them. - You have presented analysis to senior audiences and handled hard questions about it. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS - Experience with Sigma, Looker, Tableau, or a similar BI tool. - Working knowledge of ASC 606 and subscription billing. - Experience with Stripe, QuickBooks, or similar billing
