ABOUT THE ROLE We are looking for a Head of Community Marketing to build and lead our community marketing strategy for the patients, families, and caregivers of the rare disease population we serve. You'll turn a scattered, often isolated population into an engaged community, and turn that community into a growth engine for Probably Genetic. WHAT YOU WILL DO - Define and own our community marketing strategy, spanning virtual (social, online groups, content, email) and in-person (events, conferences, meetups, fundraisers) channels - Develop original campaign concepts to activate and grow patient and caregiver communities - Build and own relationships with patient advocacy groups (PAGs) and foundations across hundreds of rare diseases, strengthening existing partnerships and cultivating new ones - Test and iterate across tactics, including referral and email outreach, PAG partnerships and sponsorships, events, participant compensation, and paid media - Track how community efforts influence key metrics, including patient acquisition and CAC, and adjust strategy accordingly - Build scalable, repeatable playbooks for community-driven growth - Represent Probably Genetic at conferences, fundraisers, and community events, with regular travel expected WHO YOU ARE We are looking for a few specific things that will help you succeed in this role: - 5-10 years of experience in community marketing or community-led growth at a consumer brand known for genuine community engagement (health/wellness, fitness, productivity, or lifestyle products with passionate user bases are a strong fit) - A track record of building or significantly growing a community with active participation, members creating content, referring others, and organizing around the brand themselves - Creative instincts for community activation, from concept to execution - Fluency in both virtual and in-person community building - Comfort using data to guide decisions and identify what's driving growth, engagement, and CAC - Genuine empathy for engaging a sensitive, high-stakes population; you never lose sight of the real people behind the community - Strong written and verbal communication; you can shape a brand's voice and adapt it to a high-trust context - Willingness to travel regularly for events and partner meetings Some things that are not required, but you will learn on the job: - Familiarity with the rare disease landscape or existing relationships within the rare disease community As with all new hires at Probably Genetic, you will also need to be: - A good person.
